Cathedral High School opens.

It is located at 74 Union Park Street. The school opens with an enrollment of 44 students and is staffed by the Sisters of St. Joseph. Its mission is, “to develop students spiritually, intellectually and socially, and to train Catholic leaders.” An addition is built in the 1950s.
